SACRAMENTO – The Assembly Public Safety Committee passed Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) Senate Bill 97, which removes senseless barriers to overturning wrongful convictions. The bill passed 8-0 with bipartisan support and heads next to the Assembly floor.

SACRAMENTO – The Assembly’s Public Safety Committee passed Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) Senate Bill 58, which decriminalizes possession and use of a set of naturally occurring psychedelics, including psilocybin, psilocyn, Dimethyltryptamine (“DMT”), mescaline (excluding peyote), and ibogaine. The bill passed 5-2 and heads next to the Assembly Health Committee.
SACRAMENTO – Last night, the Governor, Senate, and Assembly announced a final agreement on the state budget, including restoring a $2 billion cut to transit capital projects and adding $1.1 billion for transit operations to avert the transit fiscal cliff. SACRAMENTO – The Assembly Natural Resources Committee passed Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) Senate Bill 273, legislation to authorize a mixed use project to revitalize San Francisco’s Piers 30-32 and restore its crumbling infrastructure. The bill passed 10-0-1 with bipartisan support and heads next to the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
SACRAMENTO – The Assembly Local Government Committee passed Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) Senate Bill 593, the San Francisco Replacement Housing Act. SB 593 will create a tax increment financing structure to replace 5,800 affordable homes lost during the 1950s-70s era of redevelopment or “urban renewal.” The bill passed 7-1 with bipartisan support and heads next to the Assembly Housing and Community Development Committee.
