SACRAMENTO - Today, Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) Senate Bill 964, the Behavioral Health Workforce Revitalization Act, passed the Assembly Higher Education Committee in an unanimous, bipartisan vote. It will now be heard in the Assembly Appropriations Committee.

SB 964 increases California’s investment in its behavioral health workforce to retain workers, increase the size of the behavioral health workforce, and support behavioral health workers who are facing a significant increase in demand for services.

SACRAMENTO - Today, Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) sent Senate Bill 357, the Safer Streets for All Act, to Governor Gavin Newsom’s desk for his action. The Legislature passed SB 357 last year, but Senator Wiener held the bill at the Senate desk, delaying its transmittal to the Governor.

SACRAMENTO - Senator Scott Wiener’s (D-San Francisco) Senate Bill 879, also known as the PET (Prohibiting Extraneous Testing) Act, passed the Assembly Judiciary Committee in a unanimous, bipartisan vote. It will now head to the Assembly Appropriations Committee.

SACRAMENTO – Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco)’s legislation, Senate Bill 1336, which establishes a carryforward tax credit for commercial cannabis retailers, has passed the Senate by a bipartisan vote of 26-3. It now moves to the Assembly for policy hearings.
