Senator Wiener Opposing the Defunding of Planned Parenthood

Today on the Senate Floor, Senator Wiener spoke in support of Senate Resolution 9, which opposes the defunding of Planned Parenthood by the federal government, including stating the following:

"Beyond the general assault on healthcare access, this also about the ability of woman to make health choices for themselves, and specifically reproductive health choices. When a woman decides to make a choice about her reproductive health, that is her decision to be made in consultation with her healthcare provider. It is none of my business, it is none of Congress' business, it is none of the business of the President of the United States. That choice belongs to that woman, and that woman alone. That's what this attack on Planned Parenthood is about, and we need to stand up for the woman of this state, and this country, and pass this resolution."
