Senator Wiener’s Statement on Jeff Sessions’ Lawsuit Against California and Appearance in Sacramento Today

Sacramento –  Today Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) released the following statement about Jeff Sessions coming to Sacramento to announce his intention to sue California:

“If Jeff Sessions needs to come to California to look tough on Fox News so Donald Trump will start returning his calls, then so be it. But California knows how to fight against bigotry and hate, and we know how to fight to protect our immigrant neighbors. I have total confidence that Attorney General Becerra will protect California’s decision not to become an arm of Donald Trump’s federal deportation machine. We stand strong with our immigrant communities, and no amount of posturing by Jeff Sessions will prevent us from continuing to do just that.”​
