Sacramento  –  Today, Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) released the following statement after the State Senate passed a bill to require net neutrality in California:

“The California Senate just passed a bill that moves us toward adopting net neutrality as the law of the land in our state. We’re committed to protecting a free and open internet. I’m proud to collaborate with Senator Kevin de Leon to move this important issue forward, via his SB 460 and my own bill, SB 822.”

SB 460 was approved by the State Senate and now goes to the State Assembly for consideration. SB 822 is pending in the Senate and will be voted on in the coming weeks.
