Senator Wiener’s Statement on Governor’s Newest Public Health Directive

San Francisco, CA - Senator Scott Wiener (D-San Francisco) issued the following statement in response to Governor Newsom’s public health directive increasing social distancing:  

“Today, Governor Newsom took an aggressive and essential step toward protecting public health from the spread of COVID-19, including closing all bars and nightclubs, keeping seniors and people with chronic conditions isolated at home, and transitioning our homeless neighbors out of encampments and into healthier settings. I fully support the Governor’s decision to take these steps. We must flatten the curve on COVID-19, and the Governor’s directive will help significantly.”
